Cacti & Succulents can be grown either indoors or out, given the proper conditions. Light requirements vary according to variety, ranging from bright, indirect light to approximately three hours of direct sunlight per day.
Soil: A commercially prepared soil mix for cacti & succulents is recommended. Always be sure the soil you do use is a light mixture for proper drainage.
Watering: Cactus should be allowed to dry out, then watered thoroughly. Succulents need a little more water during warm months. Don’t water for 4-6 weeks during January-February to encourage flowering in the Spring.
Fertilizing: Use a balanced houseplant fertilizer or Cactus fertilizer sparingly, following package directions. Let your cactus & succulents rest from Oct. to March and DO NOT fertilize at this time.
