We always recommend native plants for your landscape including:
Ground covers: dwarf ruellia, mondo grass
Shrubs: Canna lily, Elephant Ear, Wax Myrtle
Trees: Bald Cypress, Red Bay, Weeping Willow
Palms: Cabbage Palm, Chinese Fan
These plants do not necessarily need to be watered more often. They just tolerate more water than most plants, and may not tolerate standing water for long periods of time.
