A hedge or hedgerow is a line of closely spaced shrubs or tree species planted and trained to form a barrier or to mark the boundary of an area, such as between neighboring properties to line walkways or to improve privacy.
Hedgerows also provide an ideal habitat for birds. In short, living shrubs can create magical effects that fences cannot.
